The 50-km-long motorway section from Muurla to Lohja began construction in 2005 and was scheduled to ready in 2009. The E 18 motorway section is the missing part of Highway 1 between Helsinki and Turku. The E 18 project is the biggest road project in Finland ever. Ruukki's wide ranging delivery to this huge project included 142 km of guard rails, load-bearing steel structures for five bridges and 4.5 km of steel pipe piles.
