Ruukki delivered Liberta Cor-Ten 600 rainscreen panels in the construction project of the National Memorial Museum in Palmiry, located in the Kampinoski Forest near Warsaw, Poland. The aim of the design was to ensure that a new building fits as much as possible into its surroundings – green trees, sand of forest dunes, but first and foremost – a simple form of cemetery with graves of Polish civil citizens executed here during World War II. The modern structure was erected with a facade consisting of glass walls, Liberta Cor-Ten rainscreen panels and concrete plates.
Before installation, panels were perforated with laser to obtain irregularly placed, circular perforations resembling bullet holes. In total, Ruukki delivered almost 600 m2 of Liberta Cor-Ten 600 rainscreen panels for the museum’s facade.
